Nymex sets new daily volume records
New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) set a new daily volume records on 16 October, including a total daily volume record.
Total Nymex contracts traded on CME Globex reached 1.15m, surpassing the previous record of 1.11m contracts traded on 16 August.
Additionally, crude oil futures totalled 663,740 contracts, exceeding the previous high of 626,447 contracts traded on 6 September.
Finally, on a day of new records, crude oil options set a new record of 21,426 contracts, topping the previous record of 11,979 contracts set also on 16 August.
