Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM) has announced two additions to its investment team.
Pranay Gupta Laharia has been appointed head of technology and telecommunications research. Laharia joins BIAM from Deutsche Bank in New York where he was a research analyst specialising in the IT sector. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2003 he worked for Cambridge Technology Partners in Chicago and Washington DC, where he managed a 16 member team providing IT consulting services to NetJets, part of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway company.
Laharia has a Masters degree in business administration from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Technology Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
David Furey has been appointed senior portfolio manager – fixed income.Furey is an experienced credit portfolio manager with over 12 years' experience in developing and implementing credit based, fixed income strategies across a range of client portfolios.
Furey joins BIAM from Butterfield Asset Management in Bermuda where he has four years experience managing client portfolios. Prior to this, Furey spent eight years as a fixed income portfolio manager with AIG Global Investment Group. Furey is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the UCD Smurfit School of Business.
