Fulcrum Asset Management, an independent discretionary asset manager with over £2bn ($3bn) of assets under management has hired Piotr Chmielowski as chief risk officer.

Based in London, Chmielowski will be responsible for overseeing Fulcrum’s risk management capabilities, including related aspects of Fulcrum’s investment process and all risk-related business decisions.

Chmielowski joins from Lombard Odier Asset Management, where he spent five years as head of risk in Europe. He received his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Chicago.
