FFK in emergency donations to Nepal
Industry charity Futures for Kids has called for support for
its Food for a Day campaign following a substantial donation to the two
charities it supports that operate in Nepal.
The death toll from Saturday’s earthquake in Nepal could hit
10,000 according to the Nepalese government as search and rescue teams continue to reach
areas cut off by the devastation.
FFK trustee Patrick Thornton-Smith said that he had made
contact with the two charities supported by the organisation in Nepal and the situation there was “terrible”.
FFK’s Food for a Day campaign is asking people in the market
to donate £10.59, which it says is equivalent to what a City worker spends on
lunch each day.
