Charlie Day joins SocGen's prime services business
Charlie Day is the new head of equity prime brokerage for Societe Generale Prime Services, covering EMEA.
London-based Day, who joins from Scotiabank, is believed to have taken up the SocGen role at the start of April.
The French bank acquired Newedge last year, which is now 100% owned by the firm and falls under SocGen's Corporate & Investment Banking arm.
Day spent three years as the global head of synthetic prime brokerage at Scotiabank and head of prime services for Europe and Asia.
During that time he spearheaded the sale of Daiwa’s synthetic prime brokerage business to Scotiabank, having worked for Daiwa up until 2012.
