Spencer-Skeen leaves StoneX after 11 years
Nick Spencer-Skeen, the European chief of staff at StoneX Group, has left the firm after 11 years leading the European arm of the US brokerage group.
Spencer-Skeen left StoneX, where he was chief of Staff for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, at the end of 2021 and is currently looking for his next challenge.
Spencer-Skeen told Global Investor his departure was mutually agreed and came after StoneX Group had completed the integration of the GAIN Capital Holdings, the online broker acquired by the group in July 2020.
Spencer-Skeen is hugely experienced having joined INTL FCStone (later rebranded as StoneX) in 2011.
Before StoneX, Spencer-Skeen was for three years the head of operations at Banca IMI, responsible for all post-trade activities at the Italian bank.
Previously, Spencer-Skeen was for seven years the head of operations at Banca Caboto, a director of client services at tech firm Rolfe & Nolan for two years, and the head of operations at ING Derivatives for six-and-a-half years.
He joined the Dutch bank in 1996 as the head of back office operations at ING Barings Futures.
Spencer-Skeen has been a huge supporter of the futures industry’s various charitable efforts, and founded, with Trading Technologies chief executive Keith Todd, the Dave Setters Trophy, which raises each year money for the Motor Neuron Disease Association.
