ICE win closed a packed day of cricket that featured teams from ICE, Iron Mountain, the London Metal Exchange, Euronext, StoneX and KRM22

Intercontinental Exchange won its first David Setters Trophy late on Friday as the fourth instalment of the industry’s annual charity cricket tournament raised almost £20,000 for Motor Neurone Disease research.

ICE, who entered the tournament for the first time this year, beat last year’s winners Iron Mountain in the final, as ICE openers Rahul Sharma and Tom Philippe knocked off the requisite 46 runs with an over to spare.

The ICE win, overseen by the exchange’s head of financial derivatives Steve Hamilton, avenged the side’s only loss of the day, to Iron Mountain in the earlier group stages.

The inaugural win brought to a close a packed day of cricket that featured teams from ICE, Iron Mountain, the London Metal Exchange, Euronext, StoneX and KRM22.

The event, at the majestic HAC sportsground in the heart of the City of London, was sponsored by pharmaceutical firm Ethypharm while market intelligence firm Acuiti sponsored the drinks.

The winning side was congratulated by David Setters, the derivatives expert who has in recent years worked to raise money to fund research into MND after discovering he has the disease.

Dave has been tireless in raising awareness about MND and in supporting efforts that lead to a cure and better care for people living with MND. He established City Against MND and works closely with the MND Association. Dave is also a Founding Trustee of Futures for Kids, the industry's charity.

The David Setters Trophy 2021 has so far raised £19,500, taking the total raised by the cricket event for Motor Neurone Disease research to well over £100,000.
